Sainthia in the district of Birbhum (West Bengal) is located at Suri Sadar, which is a Sub-division of the district. This town of Sainthia is well-known for being one of the Shakti Peethas in the entire India and is popular for the Nandikeshwari Temple. The region has seen lot of development with construction over Mayurakshi River as well as the Sahibganj Loop. Earlier there were no Railway stations, but after the establishment of the Khana-Rajmahal section of Sahibganj Loop (October 1859), the first train was started via Horah till the Rajmahal through the Khana.

Sainthia is situated with an altitude of 53 meters (i.e, approximately 173 feet), and falls between the latitude of 23.57°N and longitude of 87.40°E, just over the banks of the River Mayurakshi. The place owns the alluvial and fertile soil, as well as there is a very rich groundwater reservoir.
